Adam’s a teacher, a father, an addict, a cult defector, a paranoid dreamer, a fantasist. He’s inching towards his own personal collapse as the world fragments around him, accompanied by his malodorous hound and an ill-advising AI bot named ChatChit.
A dope-addicted dad, a disobedient dog, a dead king, a depressed angel, not to mention a delusional tech billionaire… A Wolf Among Wolves is an amalgamation of puzzle pieces leading up to Adam’s disappearance in dystopian Dover told in found fragments, illustrations, memories and flights of fancy.
About Adam Cohen
Adam Cohen is a pseudonym that gives him the freedom and confidence to create and say what he wants without fear. His work draws on a life shaped by growing up in a restrictive religious cult, addiction, learning difficulties including dyspraxia and ADHD, and experiences with mental health.
As a child of Eastern European Jewish immigrant ancestry, Adam is deeply interested in ideas of displacement, inheritance and belonging. Raised in a family where fiction and popular culture were forbidden, he developed an intense fascination with stories in all their forms, from novels and graphic novels to music, television and film.
His influences range from Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash to The RZA, Eminem and Lauryn Hill, as well as television shows such as Fleabag and Peep Show. He is drawn to work that is honest, intimate and unafraid to humanise taboo thoughts.
