Novelist Sophie Grammar needs her writing mojo back – fast, or she risks losing her flat. But with the noisy neighbour from hell, and a sensory disorder that magnifies every sound, she’s losing the plot.

Then Sophie’s Aunt Edwina, tea-leaf reader and amdram director, invites her to peaceful Norfolk. Perfect! – until Sophie arrives to find Edwina lying injured after a rehearsal, a smashed glass nearby. A fall? No, Edwina insists: a push. With Edwina hospitalized, Sophie steps in to direct the Watermill Players, only for their toxic leading lady to collapse during her own death scene. And this time, it’s murder. Sophie’s terrified: is her aunt’s life in danger?

As suspicions swirl, and police draw a blank, Sophie joins forces with Edwina, sharp-eyed GP’s wife, Nyla, and Juno, a retriever with a nose for trouble. Sophie’s heightened senses might just give them the edge … if she can learn to trust the abilities she’s spent years struggling to control.

Brimming with village secrets and eccentric suspects, A Whiff of Herbal Murder is a warm, witty cosy mystery about finding friendship and courage when murder takes centre stage.
